Seeking to make a significant improvement to your home can be exciting but also a little daunting. There’s a lot to get right, from planning requirements and building regulations through to technical considerations in the construction process and of course achieving the right atmosphere and style.
We offer the full range of services you require to get your proposed extension off the ground. We carry out measured building surveys to produce precise scaled plans and we can source all the necessary mapping to make your planning application valid. We can construct highly detailed 3D designs and through V.R we can allow you to experience your project in an unprecedented level of realism and work with us through options to hone the design to perfection.
You may have heard a bit about planning permission but aren’t sure exactly what applies to your particular plans. This is entirely normal, in fact planning requirements and building regulations can be quite complex and allow room for interpretation and different approaches.
So the bottom line is, we can’t answer that question for you simply. The best planning decisions are made after a site survey and some careful consideration of the proposed development by an experienced planning consultant.
Whether you require a certificate of lawful use or development, a change of use, or assistance with any other planning or property development issue, by appointing Neptune as your consultants you will receive a professional and personal service regardless of whether it’s an application for a small house extension or a more major development project.
Rules and regulations can be confusing!

Everyone thinks that complications at the planning stage will not happen to their application – until they do. We have extensive experience in dealing with issues around daylight impacts, shadow analysis, design considerations, parking considerations, trees, heritage related matters and more that can sometimes stand in the way of planning proposals.
We often represent homeowners on both sides of the fence such as those who are unhappy about a neighbouring development or those proposing something which has been subject to objections. We prepare accompanying submissions to cut through the noise and get to the heart of the issue.
Contact us about your planning complications, we would be happy to help.
If you speak to most Builders they would not be happy to talk pricing with you without detailed plans of the proposed extension. This is because through experience, they know that what can seem simple at face value can soon get more complex. Drainage, structural steel work, thermal considerations and building regulations requirements can soon add thousands to the cost of a project.
Neptune Architectural have many years experience in preparing designs for domestic extensions. We regularly prepare Planning and Building Regulations drawings. We work with Structural Engineers to prepare specifications to pass Building Regulations and put together submissions for Building Over Agreements to Drainage Authorities to assure we get all the necessary ticks in boxes before your work starts.
Then if desired, our sister brand Neptune Construction can provide pricing to construct the project.

3D Schemes:
Part of our design exercise process is to produce multiple varying options for our clients to get a true understanding of what is achievable in their home and give them ideas they might not have thought of initially. These simplified 3D schemes give our clients insight into potential kitchen layouts, furniture layouts as well as architectural features such as roof lanterns and bi-fold doors. The main reason for producing these schemes is to give our clients a better idea of scale and how functional or practical certain design options can be.
Whilst many of our plans and drawings are still standard 2D, we are able to provide plans in fully rendered 3D. We can model individual houses, extensions and even the internal fixtures, decor and fittings of a building if you desire.
We can even drop in furniture, beds and kitchen units or custom features like hot tubs to help you understand the proportions of the space.
The hope is that by producing plans in this way you can have the best understanding of what the finished development will look like and you are more likely to be satisfied with the outcome in the long term.
When you want your extension or garage conversion project to turn out just right, what could be better than working on the design with experts and seeing it all in a detailed 3D virtual world? You can see what the light coming into the room would be like, whether the extension would cast a shadow over your garden at certain times of the day or whether there will be enough space within the extension to fit in an important piece of furniture. The applications of 3D plan drawings are endless. All you need to do is ask.
Our V.R design process is an exciting and highly productive part of ensuring a first rate result from a home extension project.
