Our service in detail
Our first step is to visit our client and begin talking to them in detail about their ideas and vision for the project.
We completed a detailed survey of the site, created floor plans for the existing layout and started work designing potential extension solutions to the structure. We built a package of 2D and 3D resources highlighting a full range of relevant options. This 3D design options appraisal service allows our client to get a ‘feel’ for what different options would mean in real life and ensures our final design is just right.
We proposed layouts displaying various ways of laying out the kitchen space whilst at the same time providing social and dining space. The proportions of the location of the existing property did not lend itself well to situating the kitchen in that space. Although this departed from what the client had initially envisaged, one of the options suggested a complete relocation of the kitchen. When the client saw the finished imagery they could not have been more pleased. With some minor refinements, discussion around exterior cladding and correct process to progress the work, we were ready for progressing the formal drawings.
From this work with design options, we found an ideal and exciting layout other than the customer’s initial thoughts. Throughout the design process we prepared for a smooth journey through planning permission and building regulations. This is secured with input from the structural engineer and is encapsulated in our detailed formal drawings.
The key design option was presented as detailed formal drawings for submission to planning and planning permission was secured, Building Regs drawings were then prepared in conjunction with the Structural Engineer and these have since been approved. The Client can now seek tenders/quotes from builders to take forward the development.
